How does EFT work?

How does EFT work? The EFT Therapy is based on the discovery that “The Cause of All The Negative Emotions is a Disruption in the Body’s Energy System“.

Our body has an electrical nature and a system of energy meridians. This has been known for millennia. With EFT tapping EFT on these meridians, you can experience positive changes in your emotional and physical wellness.

EFT acts in a different way from conventional therapy.

The EFT Therapy addresses the cause of the negative feeling to the energy’s disruption, not to the memory.

Even contacting an EFT therapist, you do not need to go through discomfort in talking about your traumatic experiences or all your negative thoughts and feelings. With EFT, you have just to briefly tell about your problem. That is all. If, however, you do not wish to talk about your problem, the therapist doesn’t even need to know what is affecting you. EFT works anyway!

Before tapping you must address the problem through a “Set Up” that describes your issue to resolve, such as: “Even though I have this anxiety, I deeply and completely love and accept myself”.

EFT is a gentle way to heal.

How Does EFT Work ~ The Cause of the Negative Feelings

According to Gary Craig, the cause of the negative feeling is the disruption in the body’s energy system. When you have a negative feeling, such as sadness, anger and anxiety, the system is unbalanced because there is a disruption that has been created by a distressing memory. This disruption causes the negative feeling. Through tapping with EFT, we fix the disruption and the energy flows again in the meridian.

A memory can always contribute to a negative emotion, but it is not the direct cause. Between the memory and the negative emotion, there is another step, that is the disruption, a “zzzzt“ in our body‘s energy system.

Conventional therapy treats the memory, that means the person has to remember and go through into the painful feelings again and again.

This is why I got more depressed, many years ago, when I began conventional therapy with a psychologist. At the end of the session, I found myself thinking “Why did I come here to tell all my private things and feeling now even worse”? It made no sense. So even in the worst moments of my life, for example when my father died, I didn’t manage to go more than few times to tell a psychologist all my sorrow. I gave up because the pain became even more unbearable.

I cannot avoid thinking what my life would have been if I would have known about EFT at that time, 20+ years ago!

If you are used to conventional therapy, you will be amazed to see how even a general issue, such as “being sad”, can be lowered in some rounds of EFT. Then you have to address the issues behind the sadness to neutralize the real causes of your sadness.

To treat the memory as the traditional therapy does, makes you actually get more “zzzzzt“, more disruptions in your system.

How does EFT work? The EFT Therapy, addresses the therapy to the true cause, the disruption.
